This latest collection from Jaeger was yet again very convincing. Typically of Jaeger, neither the colour palette nor shapes were remotely close to verging on daring yet it worked within that framework. Though one could sense the ‘leave the kids to do the experimenting, we’ll do what we do best’ feel to this collection, it fell just a little short. The style was comforting with tea-party polka dots, vague hints of sportswear in some structures and bold stripes giving it a nostalgic tone. The combination of colours seemed pleasantly familiar: the black and shades of white giving it a strong structure, the icy tones bringing in some much needed edge combined with earthy browns for some warmth. Though one sensed they had seen this collection before, it didn’t really detract from the beauty and workmanship shown in the garments themselves. A very established label rediscovering itself and once again holding it’s own in a world where fashion can only be discovered. Though slightly lacking in authority, a lovely nostalgic collection to warm the soul.
